About this Event

Welcome to our Mead & Ambrosia workshop @ The Swan Settlers Market, Herne Hill

*Honey wine, has been enjoyed as the drink of the gods for thousands of years. It’s a magical, potent brew but it’s simple to make in your own home kitchen.*

In this workshop, we’ll explore:

+ the magical lore of honey wine: from Zeus to Beowulf, the Aztecs to Queen Anne.

+ how to infuse your mead and ambrosias with fruits, spices and medicinal herbs

+ and of course we’ll make our own batch of Ambrosia.

Please come a few minutes early to allow for registration and settling in.

+ Your host is Lou Chalmer, Chief of Grape Bucketing & Honey Drizzling, owner and creator of Yume Wine & ancient art of

Ambrosia maker

+ All materials used in the class are covered in your fee

+ You get to take home a bottle of your handmade ambrosia! Optional to buy 4 additional bottles for $10 each

+ recipe & notes of your magical brew

+ It will be a fun class full of product knowledge and hands-on making experience

There’s time for shopping afterwards at the Swan Settlers market where you can get Tea/Coffee and have a choice of lunch options. Opening hours: 9 am – 5 pm

In addition, all workshop participants have a 10% discount for in-store purchases at the House of Honey, 867 Great Northern Hwy, Herne Hill.

+ You attend both workshop dates:

+ Workshop 7th Nov - learn all about MEAD & AMBROSIA, set up our handmade AMBROSIA and let it rest for 4 weeks to start the fermentation process

+ Workshop 5th Dec – the exciting bit happens – we will taste and bottle our Ambrosia to take home.

NOTE:

This workshop is held on two separate dates because of the fermentation process of 4 weeks.  It is important that you are available on both dates. The total ticket cost is $139
