THU 20 May 2021 - Perth celebrates World Bee Day - Murray Street Mall

Western Australia has the healthiest bees in the world, and we welcome celebrating this on World Bee Day by showing off our unique native flora that attracts and feeds both our native and honey bees, as well as the food they pollinate for our food security. Our landscape UWA-based PhD student, Yuqi Yang, has suggested the following display to attract passers-by to engage with a honey bee (sealed) display, accept planting tips handouts for bees in the Perth region and see/buy samples of honey bee products produced from this region. The plants will be lent to us by Benara Nurseries to highlight the flowering seasons and the need for year-round pollen and nectar for bee multiplication and foraging energy. This display is organised by CRC HBP, in collaboration with the Department for Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD). Location: Murray Street Mall - near City Beach store Time: 9 am - 4 pm
