The Bee Industry Council of Western Australia (BICWA) was created from steering committee meetings and came to fruition in December 2015.
There was a need for a united industry. Beekeepers were not representing themselves to the government professionally, and the need to bring all beekeepers under one umbrella peak body was found in BICWA.
To help BICWA become a strong, well-organised, well-financed and highly motivated peak body, industry participants must consider contributing to their peak body.
If you are passionate about what beekeepers do and contribute to the environment and society, and want to champion things moving forward, being a board member can provide you with the network and ability to reach the decision-makers.
To change things for the better, it is beneficial to demonstrate a committed investment in your cause and being a member of the BICWA board provides an opportunity to show that commitment.
BICWA requires 2 Directors for appointment to the Board. (Office Term 3 years)
BICWA represents all beekeepers in Western Australia, from hobbyists to commercials, and aims to reflect these categories of beekeepers on its Board of Directors.
Please consider taking up this great opportunity (regardless of how many hives you have) by submitting your nomination before 31st July 2022 to become one of our Directors on the BICWA Board.
We would love to see representatives of all categories coming together to provide input and direction for the future of our Industry.
The Board meets on the 4th Friday of each month in Perth. Electronic attendance is also available. The organisation is currently run by 6 beekeeper Directors and 2 independent Directors. Each director works within a sub-committee of preference. These committees are; Research & Adoption, Finance & Growth, Resource & Biosecurity, Communication & Development.

you must be a beekeeper member of BICWA, and
over the age of 18
NOMINATION:
fill out the nomination form attached
include a photo and short biography (max 150 words)
hand in the form before Sunday 31st of July 2022 to Christine
WHEN:
Nomination close: Sunday 31st of July 2022
ELECTION PROCESS:
The Directors' election will be run electronically, and the results will be announced at the BICWA AGM on the 23rd of September 2022.
